2007 Quarterly Updates
First Quarter
Deployments
There were 6 deployments this quarter.
Sixty-five participants were
serviced.
KCIT
provided local resources to one community situation.
There was one incident where KCIT
received calls, and information and referral was made to a local team.
Simulations
There were no
simulations this quarter.
Outreach
KCIT outreached
to the PA State Police to provide information and brochures at their Troop
Conference.
KCIT provided technical assistance to the Arizona State
Crisis Team by sharing KCIT policies and procedures.
An article on KCIT was published in the Pathways & Partnership
Newsletter.
Second Quarter
Deployments
There were 2 deployments this quarter. Fifty-three
participants were served. One team was
placed on standby.
KCIT
provided resources to one community.
Simulations
There were two simulations held this quarter. The first
was held in Warrington
(eastern PA) in April and focused on team leader and manager roles.
Sixteen (16) attended. Patti Pearson and Shelly Keffer co-trained.
The second was held in Pittsburgh in June and focused on the
facilitator and scribe roles. Sixteen (16) KCIT
members attended. Mary Jo Harwood was the trainer.
Trainings
One Basic 5-day Community Crisis Response Team training
was held June 18-22 in Pittsburgh. Twenty-one
participants completed the training including victim service professionals,
mental health professionals, school personnel and law enforcement.
Mary Jo Harwood and Angela Keen were the trainers.
Outreach
KCIT provided information to two organizations upon request.
Third Quarter
Deployments
There were two deployments this quarter.
Eight participants were served.
One team was placed on standby.
Local referrals and resources were provided in response to two
incidents.
Simulations
A two-day simulation was held on August 8-9, 2006
in Carlisle, PA.
The trainers were Jim Fouts and Shelley Keffer. Participants had the
opportunity to practice the roles of Facilitator/Scribe. In addition, Tom
Moriarty presented the NIMS 100 and 700 training. Fourteen KCIT members
attended.
Outreach
Two KCIT members attended NOVA's National Crisis Response Team Conference in
Reno,
NV in July and presented a
workshop on crisis response teams.
